Department Manager - Systems Engineering


EIDEL is experiencing significant growth and is looking to hire a Department Manager for its systems designers in our research and development department.

The position entails responsibility for the company’s system engineers and Space engineers, within a department of about 10 employees. The system engineers are tasked with planning and facilitating what EIDEL will produce, serving as a crucial link between the customer side and developers. They play a part in setting the overarching production requirements and participate in the bidding phase.

Space engineers work comprehensively on EIDEL’s space projects, overseeing these projects from inception to final delivery.

The Department Head for Systems will work closely with all departments within the company, including project, software, hardware, and testing departments as of today. The head of the systems department will play a key role in developing exciting, innovative, and forward-looking solutions.

The role includes personnel responsibility for the department, encompassing employee development, professional responsibility for the department, process responsibility, as well as budgeting and cost monitoring. The position also contributes to recruitment and resource allocation for the company. The Department Head for Systems will also be pivotal in strategically developing the area in line with the company’s growth.

EIDEL is seeking an operational, proactive, and committed Department Manager for Systems who is eager to lead a crucial area for a growing company, where development and improvement are central. The ideal candidate for the position is capable of thinking both operationally and strategically and has a strong professional background in system engineering, has participated in several major projects within system engineering, in addition to leadership experience, or a desire to lead.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Professional competence development within system engineering for the department
  • Develop the systems department according to the company’s framework and methodology
  • Personnel management of the systems department
  • Reporting for the department
  • Budget responsibility
  • Revisions, contribute to validation processes and contribute to process improvements

Professional Qualifications

  • Higher education in relevant subject areas
  • Good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian and English
  • Minimum 5 years of experience from Systems Engineering
  • Experience from companies within electronics, software or IT
  • Must have participated in the implementation of one or more technical projects with delivery to customers as a system engineer with responsibility for implementation
  • Preferably experience with management of system engineers, or a desire to lead

  • A requirement for the position is approved security clearance by NSM.
