NIFRO represented by General Manager Gunnar Heløe and Deputy Chairman of the NIFRO board Truls O. Andersen from EIDEL, were last week at the Business Committee “Næringskomiteen”, at the Norwegian Parliment, “Stortinget”, on behalf of the Norwegian space industry. The contribution from NIFRO highlighted the need for a new national space strategy, and that a stable and predictable framework conditions are a prerequisite for the Norwegian space industry to be able to succeed. As before, NIFRO recommended a close collaboration with the Norwegian authorities, industry and research environments, a triangular collaboration modeled on the defense sector.
Some of the key topics touched upon was the significance of space in regards to societies vulnerabilty and security, the national funding for space innovation and the EU investments in space, especially in regards to secure connectivity.
